Every metric is a flight: a paper progress strip in a holder, a blip with a datablock on a calm radar console. Acme Pulse is the tower's second pair of eyes; when one flight drifts into conflict its strip moves to HOLD and the human controller gives the clearance.

Strips slap into the bay from the top, one per beat, each a little crooked, until the bay overflows to the right. The dashed "32 MORE" box pulses amber on the downbeat before the drop.

The strip pile slides off left and the radar console fades up from black. On the drop the tower (the Acme mark) lands at centre, blips spring to life with their datablocks and "Acme Pulse" types in below.

Blips glide along linear tracks with fading echo trails; one turns coral and the amber conflict box blinks at 2 Hz for one second, then holds. Its strip slides right into HOLD with a back.out clack on the snare and the controller clears "Roll back".

Strips stack neatly from the bottom up, one per beat, all teal. "Every metric." lands on beat 1, "Every minute." on beat 3, and the CLEARED stamp thumps across the strips on the final downbeat.
COMPONENT KIT
Flight progress strip — buff paper strip in a coloured holder: callsign = metric, value, status (CLR / HOLD).
Strip bay — ACTIVE and HOLD columns; position tells the story.
Radar PPI — range rings, blips with fading echo trails, the Acme mark as the tower.
Datablock — mono tag tethered to each blip.
Conflict box — amber outline that blinks, then holds, around the drifting metric.
Clearance stamp — "CLEARED" once the human has acted.
MOTION · MUSIC
Strip slide-and-clack — strips snap into holders with back.out(1.4) in 0.25 s and a 2 px settle, synced to the hi-hat (8th notes at 120 BPM).
Blip trails — linear motion, three echo dots at 70/45/25% opacity, updated every beat like a radar refresh.
Alert pulse — conflict outline blinks at 2 Hz (on/off each 8th note) for 1 s, then holds solid on the next downbeat.
WHY / RISK · ADAPT IT
Air-traffic control is the cultural shorthand for calm, expert oversight of many moving things, and the strip bay makes "hold this one, clear the rest" literally visible. Risk: dense at 1:1; cap the bay at 8 strips and keep the radar to 4–5 blips.
Adapt to your product: Make each strip one of your objects (a job, a customer account, a shipment, a pipeline) and let HOLD be whatever your product asks a human to decide.
